CircHive is a Horizon Europe project helping businesses and the public sector make more informed decisions that protect ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and unlock new opportunities for society and businesses. By recognising the value of nature, CircHive aims to help organisations make more informed decisions that protect ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and unlock new opportunities for society and businesses.

The University of Edinburgh is leading two hubs within CircHive. The Green Cities Hub is investigating piloting methods to monitor and understand the state of urban biodiversity and the wider benefits urban nature provides to people in cities. The Investors Hub is testing tools and approaches to help financial institutions capitalise on nature-related opportunities, develop nature-positive investment criteria, and assess and manage nature-related impacts, dependencies and risks. The University is also a CircHive case study partner, with its Forest and Peatland Programme a testbed for the tools and approaches being developed.

Insights from CircHive can be accessed and built on through the BEEHive, an online community for people interested in using biodiversity footprinting and natural capital accounting methods to protect ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and unlock new opportunities. The BEEHive is a place for exchanging knowledge, resources and ideas with like-minded businesses and organisations. Join us on our mission to make valuing nature the new normal. Share the outputs of your work, learn from others and make new connections. Everyone is welcome.
